Kerry Community Training Centre Courses

Courses at Kerry Community Training Centre

Our courses are designed for young people aged 16 to 21 who may have left school early or do not have a Junior Cert, Leaving Cert or any formal qualifications. Each course offers a practical way to learn, build confidence, and open doors to real opportunities. Parents and guardians can use this page to help understand what each course involves and how it can support a young person’s next step.

What is QQI?

Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) is the national body that sets standards for further education and training in Ireland. QQI awards are recognised by employers, colleges, and training centres across the country and help learners progress into work, apprenticeships, or higher-level courses.

QQI LEVEL 3 COURSES

QQI Level 3 courses are entry-level programmes. They help learners build basic skills, get used to education again, and gain confidence. These courses are suitable for those without a Junior Cert and are a strong first step towards work or moving on to a QQI Level 4 programme.

QQI LEVEL 4 COURSES

QQI Level 4 courses build on the skills learned at Level 3. They suit learners who want to go further, prepare for an apprenticeship, or work towards a QQI Level 5 course in Kerry College. Level 4 programmes offer more challenge and responsibility, helping learners get ready for the workplace or further study.

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to see if construction is the right path for them. Learners try out skills used in real building and trade environments, such as woodwork, tiling, and painting, while also learning how to prepare for work and communicate well. When finished, learners can move straight into a QQI Level 4 Construction course or begin looking for starter roles in the construction industry.
